In this talk I wish to share my diary notes(based on my own struggles and 2 seminars I attended last year) on reflections of other activists and academics who are part of different social movements in various places – (be it struggling for participatory television projects with working class communities in Ireland, or developing tools of ‘citizen science’ in Kosovo to fight air pollution or for fighting for safe streets for women at night in London or protest movements in Bosnia demanding accountable and transparent political structures, or our own struggles for migrant rights in Nijmegen). By reflecting on emotions and knowledges built on personal and collective struggles of myself and others, I hope to initiate a debate on this at-once troubled and at-once productive relationship between academic and activist practices from an everyday perspective.
